MISC Identity Project: Photo Exhibition

Hi all,

This week MISC is holding Photo Sessions for the 3rd annual ID Project: Photo Exhibition. Sessions will be on Friday, October 12th from 1-5pm and Sunday October 14th from 11-3pm at Unity House. We accept Walk-ins!

The Identity Project which is loosely based off of Kip Fulbeck’s “Hapa Project”. The project features the photographs of participants who provide description’s of their self-identity in their own handwriting.

The Identity Project  is a really cool event that explores issues of race and ethnicity at Smith and the question “who are you?”. In our third year, we are going to  have a preliminary exhibition of last year’s photos alongside new photos from this year’s photo sessions.

The exhibition will be up in Unity House on Saturday October 20th during Family Weekend and will be exhibited elsewhere later in the year.

If you would like to learn more about the Hapa Project, you can visit Fulbeck’s website at  http://seaweedproductions.com/the-hapa-project/samples/
